Marie Bergstedt Website: www.MarieBergstedtArtist.com San Francisco, CA / USA Intense life experiences drive my vision. Can I present a worthy visual? Will my images connect viewers with their own narrative and spark new ideas? I structure stories using a combination of old and found materials with new handwork. Objects formerly used or made by others represent the past and memories. New handwork and art processes lead to the present. My work, which is always about people, often conveys a visual/mental disso- nance, which has been a fundamen- tal element of my life experience. The goal is to stimulate viewers to look for what lies below the surface. “Mikey of Mallory”, 2013 Mixed Media Wall Relief: Buttons, beads, cotton threads, polyester suede backing.
